Our Story

In search of a perfect brew

The Bean And Jack story started with the idea of saying “goodbye to bad coffee for good.”

A stimulating decoction of freshly brewed coffee or a refreshing cup of tea is the catalyst in seeking the luxury of quiet contemplation.

…And as we trudged through one plantation to the next in the coffee circuit of the Deccan or the tea estates of Darjeeling and Assam, the search for the perfect cup threw up nuances of bean size, longleaf, shade-grown produce, soil, slopes, & elevations that dramatically influences the cupping response & differentiates the mundane from the divine.

In elevating the customer experience we hunt for artisanal harvest and  build relationship  with single estates  to create bespoke blends and custom roasts  for the sheer pleasure of appreciating a stimulating beverage of choice.

Our coffees and teas are characterized by the story they tell. Rain-washed slopes, sharing ancient elephant corridors, rhino habitat, leopard trails, indigenous butterflies, annual fall lending leaves to the humus-rich soil since eternity, tribal communities, Asian civets, sustainable & ethical farming, craft roasts, artisanal curing all add up to the bespoke sourcing & justify the quest for a memorable experience.

Our search has led us to spectacular single origins, curating unmatched blends & traditional curing.  At the end of the chain, we perfect the roast to suit your need & grind it as per the brewing equipment that ticks all the boxes in terms of flavor, aroma, body, crema, mouthfeel, & aftertaste.

No plantation story in India will be complete without a mention of the huge Jackfruit trees under whose mighty shade the bees pollinate & birds seek solace to create a unique ecosystem rendering a harvest that will continue to underlines man’s longing for the sublime.

“My dream is to have a house on the beach, even just a little shack somewhere so I can wake up, have coffee, look at dolphins, be quiet and breathe the air.”  Christina Applegate
